Product information
The heat resistance of NOËL & MARQUET products is +70°C. We advise against using the mouldings as a fireplace surround, as higher temperatures may occur near a fire source. Installation in close proximity to open flames or a fireplace is not possible.
All products of the WALLSTYL® (HDPS), ARSTYL® (PU) and DOMOSTYL® (PU) ranges are fully impact resistant.
No, the volatile emissions of the ARSTYL®, WALLSTYL® and NOMASTYL® product ranges were measured and all three ranges achieved an A+ emission class.
The polyurethane used as a raw material has a thermal conductivity of 0.06 W/mK. Due to their low thickness, ARSTYL® WALL PANELS and TILES do not fall into the category of insulating products. Furthermore, they do not have an integrated vapour barrier. However, if the panels are installed on walls facing outwards, the dew point may change, which requires an expert assessment of the moisture protection. The geometry gives the panels acoustic properties, but these have not been measured.
The technical data sheets of our different products are available on our website. Go to the "documents" page https://noel-marquet.be/en/documents/ then tick the "datasheet" bubble.
All products in our WALLSTYL®, ARSTYL®, DOMOSTYL® and most NOMASTYL® ranges are coated with a white acrylic primer and can therefore be painted immediately in the colour of your choice. When painting these profiles, use solvent-free paints (e.g. dispersion paints, acrylic paints, etc.). We recommend that you carry out a test run before painting the entire profile. It is also important to follow the instructions of the paint manufacturer. Lime paints, silicate paints and silicone resin emulsion paints and their mixtures are not suitable for NOËL & MARQUET products. DOMOSTYL® profiles should be painted within 4 weeks of installation with pure acrylic resin-based facade paints. For optical reasons, we recommend the first coat with plaster or façade paint. The last coat of exterior paint should be fungicidal. The brightness index of the facade paint should not be less than 45. For ARSTYL® WALL PANELS and TILES, we recommend that they are painted before installation by spray or brush. Please always refer to the data sheets and installation instructions.
The products in the DOMOSTYL® range are intended for outdoor use, all other products are for indoor use only.
All our extruded products; WALLSTYL® (HDPS) and NOMASTYL® (PS) are 100% recyclable.
All NOËL & MARQUET products are water resistant.
NOËL & MARQUET products are available in four qualities which also constitute our four product ranges: ARSTYL®, WALLSTYL®, NOMASTYL® and DOMOSTYL®. These four ranges, made up of different materials, give the products specific technical and aesthetic properties, adapted to each area of use and to best meet all needs. Here are the main properties of these four product ranges: ARSTYL®: ARSTYL® products are manufactured using a foaming process; high density polyurethane (PU) foam is injected into aluminium moulds to give the products precise and impressive 3D details, patterns and shapes. WALLSTYL®: WALLSTYL® products are manufactured using a high-density polystyrene (HDPS) extrusion process, which allows for the production of lightweight yet highly impact and moisture resistant products. NOMASTYL®: These products are also manufactured using an extrusion process, but differ from WALLSTYL® products in their density. NOMASTYL® products are made of polystyrene (PS) making them lighter but less impact resistant. These attributes make it an ideal material for cornices which are less likely to be damaged than other profiles. DOMOSTYL®: these high density polyurethane (PU) foam products for facade decoration are covered with a reinforcement sheet and a silica-filled acrylic primer to resist to weathering and to be installed outdoors.
The main weakness of MDF is its sensitivity to water. This is an issue when used in bathrooms, kitchens and when washing floors with water. A non-waterproof skirting board can deteriorate. WALLSTYL® skirtings are made of 100% polystyrene and are therefore naturally waterproof and dimensionally stable. WALLSTYL® skirtings are 100% waterproof and therefore offer a longer lifetime than MDF skirtings, which can become damaged and swell with water absorption.
Installation
It's really easy! Use our glue consumption calculator on our website under the link https://noel-marquet.be/en/glue-consumption/. Simply enter the product reference you wish to install and the quantity to be installed in metres and the calculator takes care of the rest.
No, our glues do not contain formaldehyde and have a VOC A+ emission class.
Our glues have following minimum shelf lives (from the date of production) : ADEFIX® P5: 24 months ADEFIX® PLUS: 12 months DOMOSTYL® HYBRID: 12 months The expiry date is always indicated on the top of the cartridge. In principle, we do not send glue cartridges with an expiry date of less than 6 months.
We offer three different types of glue with different properties to ensure optimal and durable installation in all cases. Here are the main properties of the three types of glue: ADEFIX® P5: glue/coating suitable for polystyrene and polyurethane products. Used for fixing products from the ARSTYL®, WALLSTYL® and NOMASTYL® ranges. A solvent-free glue that can be sanded and painted. This glue for interior use is correctable up to 10 minutes after application and takes 6 to 8 hours to dry completely. ADEFIX® PLUS: vertical joint adhesive (3 mm) for large WALLSTYL® and ARSTYL® products from 8 cm height/span, for bonding WALLSTYL® and ARSTYL® profiles to non-absorbent substrates, flexible profiles, skirtings in damp rooms, single-sided installation (indirect light), for skirtings as well as for wall panels DOMOSTYL® HYBRID: glue for outdoor use for DOMOSTYL® products. This glue can be painted and can be corrected up to 4 minutes after application. Its drying time is approximately 2mm/24h. Please always refer to the installation instructions in the "documents" section and then "installation manual" or under the link https://noel-marquet.be/en/documents/
ADEFIX® PLUS is suitable for laying on tiles, which is why we recommend it for the installation of our skirtings.
An electric circular saw is suitable for cutting all our decorative elements. If you want to cut the profiles manually, the type of saw you use depends on the material of the product you want to cut. When cutting NOMASTYL® (PS) products, we recommend using a back saw with finer teeth. Our accessories include the PS Saw, which is designed for cutting these profiles. For the cutting of ARTSYL® and WALLSTYL® products (PU, HDPS), we recommend the use of a sabre saw with a more pronounced toothing. Our accessories include the HDPS/PU saw, which is suitable for these profiles.
Absolutely! You can find our installation instructions on our website in the "documents" section and then "installation manual" or under the link https://noel-marquet.be/en/documents/
We offer various adhesives that are suitable for mounting the products as well as for making the joints. Apply the glue to the back of the profile and to the cut and make sure that there is a 3mm gap between the mitres when fitting. Remove the excess glue and flatten the joint with a spatula. Allow to dry (min. 6 hours), then lightly sand the joints with sanding paper (150 grain or finer). Then touch up the ceiling and wall joints and mitre joints with the adhesive. Joints between ARSTYL® WALL PANEL and TILES do not need to be glued or plastered, but the wall and ceiling joints should be joined with ADEFIX® adhesive. For LIQUID and WAVE models, it is recommended to use tile spacers (1-2mm) to ensure an even distance between the panels. For other models, spacers are not necessary. Use our calculator to find out what type of adhesive to use: https://noel-marquet.be/en/glue-consumption/
To ensure successful installation, surfaces must be clean, dry, dust-free, degreased and smooth (roughen if necessary). Installation on damp substrates, under forced drying conditions or at very high temperatures should be avoided. Please refer to the installation instructions (https://noel-marquet.be/en/documents/).
ADEFIX® P5: Before drying: with water - After drying: mechanically ADEFIX® PLUS: Before drying: with turpentine - After drying: mechanically DOMOSTYL® HYBRID: Before drying: with turpentine - After drying: mechanically
Indirect lighting
ARSTYL® polyurethane mouldings are opaque by nature and IL cornices from the WALLSTYL® range are made opaque by a manufacturing process. For the WT4, WT3 and W1 profiles, you will need an aluminium reflective strip (link: https://noel-marquet.be/en/products/reflexion-band/) to have an opaque profile.
The LED clips are used to adapt cornices to indirect lighting (Z16 - Z1220 - Z20 - AD23 - AD22). It is recommended to fix 5 clips every 2 meters to ensure that the aluminium rail and the LED strip are properly supported. For more details on the installation of the LED clips, please consult our installation instructions https://noel-marquet.be/wp-content/uploads/Installation_Instructions_Arstyl_LED_Clips_DE_EN_ES_FR_IT_NL_PT.pdf
For horizontal installation, LED strip systems that offer easy connection angles should be used. In this way, a uniform light pattern is also created in the corner area and mechanical damage to the light strip is avoided. Ready-made corners are also available for vertical installation.
The indirect lighting profiles themselves are water resistant. If you wish to install your profiles in a damp environment, you should ensure that you get water-resistant LEDs/transformers.
The visible parts of the profiles are primed and ready to paint. In the case of the IL10/IL11/IL12 profiles, however, please pay attention to the diffuser and the grooves to fit it.
For the installation of LEDs, preferably contact your electrician or the LED manufacturer.
The recommendation is subject to the discretion of the LED manufacturer.
The temperature resistance of the profiles is +70°C, therefore it is important to ensure that the LED temperature does not exceed 70°C.
The more LEDs per metre, the less you will see the light spots. The diffuser provides an even, indirect and glare-free distribution of light.
The diffuser is made of ABS with an OPAL finish.
To give you the opportunity to integrate LEDs according to your wishes and needs, we do not sell lighting systems.
Suitable power supplies for LED strips are direct current sources (exact voltage in volts). The wattage must always be higher than the total wattage of the strip to be installed! Example: • LED: 9,6 W/meter • Total length: 5 meters • Power: 9,6 x 5 = 48 Watt, rounded up to 50 W. The transformer should be selected with the next higher wattage; in the example, 70 W. Always observe the technical specifications of the LED strip and the manufacturer.
There is enough space at the back of the profiles to hide the cable. The position of the transformer will depend on its size and shape and the lighting profile used. Contact an electrician to see what the best solution is for you.
The choice of LED will depend on the colour, the number of watts and the effect you want to achieve, as well as the room in which the lighting profiles will be installed. Due to the many possibilities and the rapid evolution of this technology, we recommend that you discuss your project with a lighting expert. For lighting profiles with integrated diffuser(IL10, IL11, IL12, IL10 BLACK, IL11 BLACK und IL12 BLACK), we recommend using LED strips with a minimum of 120 LEDs per metre.
