Our ARSTYL®, WALLSTYL®, NOMASTYL® and DOMOSTYL® products have distinct technical and aesthetic properties, allowing each range to respond to different applications, performance requirements and design expectations.

ARSTYL®, for the love of detail
ARSTYL® products are made from high-density polyurethane (PU). The material is injected into aluminium moulds through a foaming process, allowing extremely precise shapes and detailed 3D designs. These products are durable, lightweight and impact resistant. All ARSTYL® profiles are certified for fire reaction in accordance with Euroclass B‑s2,d0. In addition, ARSTYL® wall panels can achieve a C‑s3,d0 classification when coated with AITHON AL20X (350 g/m² dry weight).

WALLSTYL®, robust and resistant
WALLSTYL® products are made from high-density polystyrene (HDPS) using an extrusion process. This material creates lightweight profiles that are highly resistant to moisture and impact.

NOMASTYL®, featherweight finish
NOMASTYL® profiles are made from expanded polystyrene (PS). They are lightweight and easy to install, making them particularly suitable for ceiling cornices where impact resistance is less critical.

DOMOSTYL®, weatherproof outdoor profiles
DOMOSTYL® products are made from high-density polyurethane (PU) and are designed for exterior facade decoration. They are reinforced with a protective sheet and coated with a silica-filled acrylic primer to resist weathering and outdoor conditions.

Extruded products made from polystyrene — including WALLSTYL® (high-density polystyrene / HDPS) and NOMASTYL® (polystyrene / PS) — are made from materials that are fully recyclable.

During manufacturing, NMC recycles production waste from HDPS and PS directly within its own facilities. Production offcuts and surplus material are processed and transformed into recycled granules, which are then reused in the manufacturing of future products.

Decorative elements from the ARSTYL® and DOMOSTYL® ranges are made from polyurethane (PU). Production waste generated during the milling, cutting and foaming process is collected and delivered to an external recycling partner, where it is repurposed and given a second life as insulation material.

Recycling possibilities for end-of-life products may vary depending on local recycling infrastructure and waste management regulations.

For this reason, the appropriate disposal or recycling pathway should always be checked with local waste management authorities or recycling services.

Most NOËL & MARQUET decorative elements are designed for interior use.

For exterior architectural decoration, the brand offers the DOMOSTYL® range, which is specifically developed for outdoor applications such as facade mouldings, window frames and decorative exterior profiles.

DOMOSTYL® products are reinforced and coated to resist weather, moisture and UV exposure.

Yes. Most NOËL & MARQUET decorative elements are factory-primed with a white acrylic primer and can be painted immediately after installation.

Compatible paints include solvent-free paints such as dispersion paints or acrylic paints. Certain paint types should not be used, including lime paints, silicate paints and silicone resin emulsion paints.

For DOMOSTYL® exterior profiles, painting should take place within four weeks after installation using high-quality acrylic facade paints. For visual reasons, the first coat should be applied with plaster or façade paint. The last coat of exterior paint should be fungicidal and the brightness index of the facade paint should not be less than 45.

Always follow the instructions provided in the product data sheets and the recommendations of the paint manufacturer.

This temperature resistance allows the profiles to be installed in most interior environments, including near indirect lighting installations.

For applications near heat sources such as fireplaces or heating systems, it is important to respect the recommended installation guidelines.

NOËL & MARQUET decorative profiles have a maximum heat resistance of approximately 70 °C.

For safety reasons, the profiles should not be installed directly around fireplaces or other open flame heat sources, where temperatures may exceed this limit.

They can however be used in most interior spaces where temperatures remain below the recommended threshold.

NOËL & MARQUET decorative elements are safe for indoor use.

The ARSTYL®, WALLSTYL® and NOMASTYL® product ranges have been tested for volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions and have achieved an A+ indoor air quality rating, which represents very low emissions. This certification confirms that the products contribute to good indoor air quality in residential and commercial interiors.

NOËL & MARQUET decorative elements are tested according to the European fire classification standard EN 13501-1, which evaluates the reaction to fire of building materials.

All ARSTYL® mouldings and chair rails are classified B-s2,d0. No additional fire-retardant treatment is required to achieve this classification.

ARSTYL® wall panels can reach C-s3,d0, when a fire-retardant coating AITHON AL20X (350 g/m² dry weight) is applied according to the tested installation configuration.

This system allows architects and designers to select the appropriate level of fire performance depending on the project requirements, while maintaining a consistent decorative design across mouldings, panels and profiles.

NOËL & MARQUET decorative profiles and design elements can be installed on most interior wall and ceiling surfaces, provided the substrate is properly prepared.

For optimal adhesion and a durable installation, the surface must be:

• Dry
• Clean and free from dust
• Degreased
• Flat and stable

Additional preparation may be required depending on the type of substrate.

• Wallpaper: If wallpaper is present, always check that it is firmly adhered to the wall before installing the profiles.
• Highly absorbent surfaces (e.g. plaster or untreated plasterboard): Apply a primer before installation to stabilise the surface and improve adhesion.
• Wood surfaces: Apply a primer to ensure proper bonding of the adhesive.
• Metal surfaces: Apply a primer before installation.
• Tiled surfaces: Tiles should be thoroughly cleaned and degreased before installation.
• Varnished or sealed surfaces: Lightly sand the surface to improve adhesion.
• Non-absorbent substrates: For non-absorbent surfaces such as tiles, glass or sealed materials, we recommend using ADEFIX® PLUS adhesive.

Installation should be avoided on damp substrates, during forced drying conditions, or at very high temperatures, as this may affect the bonding performance of the adhesive.

NOËL & MARQUET decorative elements can be cut using manual or electric saws.

For professional installation and precise mitre cuts, we recommend using an electric radial mitre saw. This type of saw allows installers to cut profiles accurately to the required angle and length, which is particularly important for corners and joints. Electric mitre saws are particularly efficient for cutting WALLSTYL® profiles, enabling fast and clean cuts with minimal effort. A suitable example is the Festool radial mitre saw KS 60 or KS 120.

• KS 120 – suitable for cutting profiles up to 125 mm in height
• KS 60 – suitable for cutting profiles up to 65 mm in height

If manual cutting is preferred, the type of saw should be adapted to the product material:

• For NOMASTYL® (PS) products, we recommend a fine-toothed back saw.
• For ARSTYL® and WALLSTYL® (PU and HDPS) products, a saw with more pronounced teeth is recommended to ensure clean cuts.

A solvent-free adhesive and filler suitable for ARSTYL®, WALLSTYL® and NOMASTYL® profiles.

A high-performance adhesive designed for larger profiles, non-absorbent surfaces and humid environments.

For an optimal finish please use the adhesive ADEFIX® which can be used both to glue elements to the wall and to finish joints between profiles and panels:

1. Apply ADEFIX® to the back of the profile and to the cut edges.
2. Leave a small gap of approximately 3 mm between mitres when installing.
3. Remove excess adhesive and smooth the joint with a spatula.
4. Let the adhesive dry (minimum 6 hours).
5. Lightly sand the joint with 150-grit sandpaper or finer.
6. Apply a small amount of adhesive again if necessary to refine the finish.

When properly finished, joints become almost invisible after painting.

Some of our ARSTYL® wall panels and tiles do not require glued joints between panels. Only the wall and ceiling joints should be filled with ADEFIX® adhesive.

For the installation of NOËL & MARQUET wall panels, we recommend using ADEFIX® PLUS adhesive.

ADEFIX® PLUS should be applied on the back of the panel to fix it to the wall and on the mitre joints or panel edges when required. This adhesive has a high initial tack, which allows it to support the weight of the panel during installation while ensuring strong adhesion to the substrate. It also cures relatively quickly, helping to stabilise the panels shortly after positioning.

After the panels are installed and the adhesive has dried, ADEFIX® adhesive can be used to create invisible joints, so that multiple panels appear as one continuous design. ADEFIX® is particularly suitable for joint finishing because it can be sanded after drying and can be painted.

To obtain a smooth and clean joint, the Joint Smoother tool can be used. This tool helps to remove excess adhesive and create an even surface finish.

Some wall panel models are designed to be installed without visible joints and therefore do not require joint filling. This applies to the following designs:

These panels are designed so that their pattern naturally creates a continuous visual transition between elements.

The minimum shelf life of the adhesives from the production date is:

The expiration date is printed on the top of each cartridge.
Adhesive cartridges are normally supplied with at least 6 months of remaining shelf life.

No. ADEFIX®, ADEFIX® BLACK and ADEFIX® PLUS adhesives do not contain formaldehyde.

They also achieve an A+ VOC emission class, indicating very low emissions and suitability for indoor use.

As a general rule, a wall design project should start with the overall proportions of the room. This provides a useful basis for creating a balanced composition, although the approach can always be adapted depending on the room, the interior style and the desired effect.

A good first step is to select the cornice, as its size should be adapted to the height of the walls and the volume of the space. The higher the ceiling, the more presence the ceiling moulding can have; in lower rooms, a more discreet profile will usually create a better balance.

Once the ceiling moulding has been defined, the skirting can be selected to create a harmonious frame around the room. As a general guideline, the height of the skirting board should be equal to or lower than the height of the ceiling moulding. This helps create visual balance between the top and bottom of the wall.

The wall decoration can then be designed between these two elements. This can include wall frames, chair rails, 3D wall panels, flexible profiles for curved shapes or indirect lighting profiles. This top-to-bottom approach makes it easier to create a coherent wall design, with each element contributing to the overall structure, rhythm and atmosphere of the room.

A room feels more elegant when its architecture, proportions and decorative details are considered as a whole. Elegance comes from the balance between the wall composition, the choice of materials, the colour palette and the lighting.

Decorative mouldings are particularly effective because they carry a strong architectural heritage. From 17th- and 18th-century townhouses and private mansions to grand European palaces, mouldings were used to express craftsmanship, status and refinement. Today, they still bring this sense of sophistication to a room, whether the interior is classic or contemporary.

For an elegant result, the cornice, skirting and wall decoration should work together and create a balanced composition. A skirting board alone can finish a wall beautifully, but when it is combined with the right moulding, wall frames, chair rails or panels, the entire room feels more coherent and intentional. Large wall frames can create a timeless and composed atmosphere, while linear wall panels introduce rhythm, verticality and a more contemporary form of elegance. Indirect lighting can further enhance the effect by softening the space and highlighting the relief of the wall design.

Yes. Wall mouldings can be used in modern interiors in many ways.

A contemporary approach is to paint the mouldings in the same colour as the wall. This tone-on-tone, colour-block effect allows the relief to become part of the architecture of the room, creating depth and structure without visual heaviness. The result is subtle, elegant and particularly well suited to modern interiors.

A more minimalist interpretation is also possible with clean-lined mouldings and skirtings. Some profiles are designed to structure the room without adding traditional ornamentation, making them ideal for interiors where the focus is on proportion, lines and architectural clarity.

Wall panels offer another modern way to work with relief. NOËL & MARQUET wall panels reinterpret decorative wall design through texture, rhythm and three-dimensional surfaces, bringing movement and depth to a wall while maintaining a contemporary look.

A classic moulded wall can also fit in a modern interior. Strong colours can give traditional wall frames a more expressive character, while an all-white or neutral composition can create a refined architectural backdrop. In that case, the contrast can come from the furniture, lighting, materials or artwork, creating a contemporary dialogue between classic wall detailing and modern interior design.

Yes. Wall mouldings, wall panels and indirect lighting can be combined to create a more complete and architectural wall design. Each element plays a different role: mouldings bring structure and proportion, wall panels add texture and relief, and indirect lighting enhances the atmosphere while highlighting the depth of the composition.

For a refined result, the combination should feel intentional. The profiles, panel design, lighting direction and colour finish should all support the same interior concept. Painted tone-on-tone, the different elements can blend into one cohesive architectural surface; used with contrast or light, they can create a stronger focal point.

Wall mouldings and panels can either be painted in the same colour as the wall or in a contrasting colour, depending on the intended effect. Wainscoting is a decorative wall treatment traditionally applied to the lower section of a wall. Originally used to protect wall surfaces while adding architectural detail, it is often associated with country-style or classical interiors, where the lower third of the wall is structured with panelling, mouldings or framed compositions.

There are two main ways to create this effect. The first is to use wall panelling or lath-style elements to cover the lower part of the wall. NOËL & MARQUET products such as the profiles WG1 and WG2 or the wall panels LATTE L and MEZZALUNA L are particularly suitable for this type of panelling effect. Traditionally, this creates a warm and structured lower wall section; in more contemporary Scandinavian or Flemish-inspired interiors, the same type of linear panelling can also be applied across a full wall or extended onto the ceiling for a more modern architectural effect.

The second option is to create framed compositions with decorative mouldings. In this case, many NOËL & MARQUET profiles can be used, depending on the desired style, scale and level of detail. Wall frames can create a more classic, elegant or architectural interpretation of wainscoting.

Chair rails are used to structure the wall and create decorative compositions. Historically, they were installed to protect walls from chair backs in dining rooms or reception areas. Today, their role is mainly decorative, offering a refined way to organise the wall surface and introduce architectural detail.

A chair rail can be used horizontally to divide the wall, separate two colours, combine paint and wallpaper, or create a dado or wainscoting effect. It can also be used to create wall frames, panels and geometric compositions. This opens up a wide range of design possibilities, from classic framed walls to more contemporary layouts with vertical, horizontal or repeated lines.

NOËL & MARQUET offers a wide range of chair rails and decorative mouldings, from classic profiles to more minimalist designs. The range also includes flexible profiles, making it possible to follow curved walls or create more creative shapes such as arches and rounded compositions. As the profiles are ready to paint, they can be integrated into the colour concept of the room.

The distinction between classic and modern mouldings is mainly a way to describe the design language of the profile. Classic mouldings usually feature more curves, layers or ornamental details, while modern mouldings tend to have cleaner lines, simpler shapes and a more minimalist appearance.

However, this classification does not determine the final style of the room on its own. A classic moulding can be used in a contemporary interior to create contrast with modern furniture, minimalist architecture or a bold colour palette. In the same way, a modern profile can be used to frame or highlight a more traditional wall composition.

Thermal insulation: The raw material used, polyurethane, has a thermal conductivity of 0,045 W/(m.K). The lower the thermal conductivity, the higher the insulating effect. The thermal conductivity of traditional insulating products is generally between 0,025 and 0,045 W/(m.K). Concrete has a value of about 1,1 to 2 W/(m.K) and wood of 0,15 to 0,25 W/(m.K). Furthermore, the thicker the insulation layer, the greater the insulating effect. In conclusion, the ARSTYL® wall panels provide a very limited additional contribution to thermal insulation and cannot be considered an insulating system.

Acoustic insulation: NOËL & MARQUET wall panels are made from closed-cell polyurethane foam and have a smooth decorative surface. Their acoustic effect is therefore very limited and should not be considered equivalent to a tested acoustic insulation system..

Standard NOËL & MARQUET profiles are made from rigid polyurethane or polystyrene, depending on the product range, while flexible profiles are made from flexible polyurethane foam.

Visually, a flexible profile is intended to match the corresponding standard profile as closely as possible, so that both versions can be combined within the same project. This is useful when a design includes both straight and curved areas and requires a consistent architectural language.

Before installation, the radius of the wall or shape should be checked against the product information to ensure that the selected flexible profile is suitable for the project. The surface must be clean, dry, stable and suitable for bonding.

The radius of a curved wall or surface is an important factor when selecting flexible mouldings, skirtings or wall panels. It indicates how tight the curve is and helps determine whether a flexible product is suitable for the project.

In practice, the radius can be determined from the plan, technical drawing or on site by measuring the curve. For a regular curved wall, the radius corresponds to the distance between the centre of the circle and the curved surface. The smaller the radius, the tighter the curve; the larger the radius, the softer and more gradual the curve.

This information is particularly important because each flexible product has a minimum bending radius. Before selecting a flexible profile or panel, the project radius should therefore be checked against the technical information of the product. This ensures that the element can follow the curve correctly without stress, deformation or installation issues.
